Metatarsal and Wolff's law

Lesion or even breaking the second metatarsal seems to be a recurring problem for who practice natural running, especially for the over 40.

Use of normal footwear inhibits utilization of many parts of the body, including the metatarsal.
Mature people who approach to natural running must think about and stick a long training period.

I like to remember regarding the bone, Wolff's law:

Julius Wolff has studied compositions of bones, discovering how spongy inside bones cavity had a different density from subject to subject and how this was determinated by micro-fractures.

When these microfractures are recomposed modify the density of the spongy and significantly increasing the mechanical strength.

The strengthening technique was already known and practiced by martial arts masters who, through training, came to unimaginable levels of resistance.
